The International Montessori School
(IMS) regards the following web sites to be definitive sources of information
about Montessori education:
-
Association Montessori
Internationale (AMI)
Most of IMS' teachers are AMI trained, and we follow their guidelines in all
of our classrooms.
-
Montessori Centre
Internationale (MCI)
A number of IMS' teachers are St. Nicholas or MCI
trained. The Montessori St. Nicholas Centre was founded in 1946 by two
British ladies trained by Dr. Maria Montessori in Italy. They
established a training college and school, and translated all of the language
materials into English. Dr. Montessori personally supervised and
signed all the graduate diplomas until the year before her death in 1952. In
1998 the teacher college and nursery school combined with the London
Montessori Centre under the name Montessori Centre International.
-
North American
Montessori Teachers' Association (NAMTA)
NAMTA is the network of Montessori schools and teachers in the U.S. that
provides significant support for Montessori schools around the globe.
-
The Montessori Foundation
Answers parents' most frequent questions about Montessori education in a
clear, easy to read language.
-
The International
Montessori Index
www.montessori.edu has been created to provide practical information on
Montessori philosophy and practice, information for parents and teachers who
want to learn more about Montessori schools, and an intelligent index to
Montessori resources and web sites.
-
The Montessori
Schools Online Webring Directory

homepages from around the world. Any Montessori school can join the ring,
