I wish I had gone to a school like this!
As we reflect on the past eight years of working to create this new schooling opportunity in Hong Kong, we are so happy to see the reality around us. The families that have joined the IMS community reflect the cultural diversity of Hong Kong, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to watch these charmers grow and achieve their independence.
In 2002, the idea of opening a school that offered each child the opportunity to reach his or her own potential without limits, and with the structure and support of the Montessori curriculum, was a dream. The reality is now taking place around us, and like what we have read and seen about Montessori, it is indeed amazing. Our children are calmer at home and proud of what they are doing at school. Parents are hearing (some report for the first time) "Let me do it myself!" from children who are now excited that they know how to do it themselves – and that this is important to them.
